Frequently Asked Questions

Peer support is a supportive relationship between people who have lived through similar life experiences. It focuses on mutual understanding, sincere listening, and navigating systems together as equals.

No. While peer support is incredibly valuable, it is not clinical therapy, counselling, or a medical service. I do not provide a diagnosis or treatment plans. Instead, we focus on shared experience and emotional backup.

A standard session is $55 (taxes included) for 1 hour. This fee covers our dedicated time together and helps keep the business sustainable so I can continue offering support to the community.

While free community groups are an incredible resource, Copper Rain offers a different kind of support. When you book a session, you are securing a dedicated, one-on-one space where the focus is entirely on you. Each appointment will be with me. Your contribution allows me to maintain a sustainable practice, invest in ongoing training, and ensure I can be fully present and grounded for every conversation. It’s a commitment to a professional, reliable, and private partnership in your wellness journey.

Absolutely. Your privacy is a priority. While I am not a medical professional, I operate with high standards of confidentiality. The only exception is if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others.

At this stage, I connect with clients exclusively over the phone. I plan to introduce video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams) in the near future. While I hope to, eventually, offer in-person meetings, staying remote allows me to focus on providing accessible support right where you are.

There is no minimum requirement for seeking help. Loneliness is a significant human challenge, and wanting to feel heard and seen is reason enough to reach out. If you are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or lonely, those feelings are valid, and I am here to listen and support you.

Whether your struggle feels small or catastrophic, it matters because it is affecting you. Everyone deserves a safe space where they can process their emotions and be heard, and I am here to provide that without judgment.

Not at all. Peer support isn't about having identical "data points" in our lives; it’s about the shared human experience of the emotions involved. While our specific stories may differ, I understand the weight of transitions, the fog of anxiety, and the exhaustion of navigating life’s "rainy" seasons. I don't need to have walked your exact path to walk beside you right now. My role is to listen without judgment and help you find your own way forward.

Absolutely. Peer support is a wonderful complement to clinical care, not a replacement for it. While a psychologist or psychiatrist focuses on diagnosis and clinical treatment, I focus on the "here and now"—the day-to-day emotional reality of living your life. Many people find that having both a clinical professional and a peer supporter provides a more "whole-picture" approach to their mental health.

I would advise that you discuss this with your therapist or doctor, as they know what will and will not help in your treatment. If they have any questions or concerns, I am always available to discuss my role with them.
